Kicking the Summer Off

Ephraim Police Department Bike Rodeo

Cycle Sanpete kicked off the summer by supporting the Ephraim Police Department's Annual Bike Rodeo. The event began with a conversation led by Sgt. Devon Krebs on bike safety. Topics included the importance of using hand signals, wearing helmets, and ensuring visibility by smiling and waving at drivers to confirm if they see you before entering a crosswalk. Sgt. Devon Krebs then had a trials demonstration and let the kids ride their bikes on a practice loop set up in the parking lot, focusing on basic traffic rules such as stopping at stop signs. The event concluded with a raffle, and thanks to generous donors, every kid went home with a prize, including helmets, water bottles, bike lights, bike bells, reflective stickers, hats, and more.

We would like to recognize the generous donors and supporters of this event:

  • The Sanpete Chamber of Commerce

  • Walmart

  • Hermansen's Hardware in Ephraim

  • Ace Hardware in Ephraim

  • The Manti Mountain Bike Team

  • Cycle Sanpete

Mother's Day Flower Ride This was our second year doing a Mother's Day Flower Ride. People on facebook nominated a mother in the community for a flower. We then rode our bikes around Manti to deliver the flowers. This very well could be one of our favorite community activities. We love connecting with amazing mother's in the community. Free Ice Cream at Mount Pleasant Mercantile in Mountain Pleasant We have several fun incentive programs this summer. Ride your bike to Mount Pleasant Mercantile for a free single scoop of ice cream, courtesy of Keith Kasperson with the Majesty Real Estate Group. In total, we expect to incentivize over 180 bike rides. We are deeply humbled and grateful for amazing people like Keith Kasperson in the community. Take a moment to befriend Keith on Facebook today! Free Root Beer Floats at Roots 89 in Spring City Next up, enjoy free Root Beer Floats at Roots 89 in Spring City. Just ride your bike over. This was made possible by a generous donation from the Miner Foundation. In total, we expect to incentivize 130 bike rides. We're grateful to see the momentum for Cycle Sanpete's mission growing. Free Award-Winning Twisted Lemonade at Charlee's Comfort Kitchen in Manti Our newest offering! Ride your bike to Charlee's Comfort Kitchen for a free award-winning twisted lemonade, made possible by the Miller Family Foundation. We expect to incentivize well over 200 bike rides with this partnership. We love Charlee's and hope they stay in our community for a very long time. Cycle Sanpete Turns Two! May is our birthday month. We started as an advocacy group in May 2022, right after my daughter was born. In May 2023, we received our official nonprofit designation. Our birthday wish is to see more people out riding their bikes, whether for fun, commuting to work, or the store, and to have infrastructure that supports safer and more comfortable biking. Can we get protected bike paths put in at Ephraim Crossing (the 128-acre development coming to town)? Might as well do it right the first time :D May is National Bike Month Finally, May is National Bike Month! In light of this, we want to encourage people to drive thoughtfully, especially where there are people. Watch your speed and be mindful of crosswalks. Let's create an amazing community that is safe for children and their families to walk and bike without fear. That's the epitome of small-town charm, right? P.S. Ephraim City Recreation is having a bike giveaway on their social media feeds this week. Find their Facebook and Instagram for details. Overall, we have such an amazing community. We hope everyone has an incredible bike month! Be sure to follow Cycle Sanpete on Facebook for upcoming community activities and events. Thank you!

Mother's Day Flower Ride

This was our second year hosting a Mother's Day Flower Ride. People on Facebook could nominate a mother in the community to receive a flower. We then rode our bikes around Manti to deliver the flowers. (Thanks to Tilted Tulip in Ephraim for the beautiful flowers!) Our Mother's Day Flower Ride could very well be one of our favorite community service projects; we love meeting all the amazing mothers in Manti!
