Bike Maintenance Workshop Recap 2024

In September, we hosted our first annual community bike maintenance workshop, which was a huge hit! Cycle Sanpete collaborated with The Central Utah Health Department, Indigo Bikes, Search and Rescue, youth from the Manti Mountain Bike Team, and Manti City’s Recreation Department.

We kicked off the event with Manti City Recreation talking about bike and street safety. Then Indigo Bikes demonstrated basic bike maintenance and helped people with fixing up their own bikes. Search and Rescue and youth from the Manti Mountain Bike Team also volunteered to help fix people’s bikes. We fixed flat tires, loose chains, and broken seats, estimating we worked on about 12 bikes!

Indigo Bikes also donated bike tubes to those who needed them. We were also really grateful that The Central Utah Health Department had a helmet fitting and giveaway station and provided information on bike and street safety.

To end the event, we had a raffle and gave away helmets, bike pumps, tools, and more! We received incredible feedback, and next year we hope to potentially expand the bike maintenance workshop to North Sanpete and work with Snow College as well.

I think this was our most shared event on social media, and we had lots of interest and collaboration—a huge success!
